When the city of Phoenix was incorporated in 1881, this area was still considered the Wild West and the only law enforcement officers at the time were the Phoenix City Marshals who eventually became the modern Phoenix Police Department. The Phoenix Police Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of the force as well as Phoenix history itself. This museum is the perfect place for history buffs as well as a place to honor the police officers -- and three police dogs -- who have been killed in the line of duty.
